The Process of Faith
I pray this letter finds you standing strong in faith and in the power of God. In I John 5:4, we are told, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” It is our faith in God and His Word that gives us the victory and helps us to overcome this world’s challenges.
It seems that we are finding the enemy challenging and testing our faith more and more in these days that we are living. The Apostle James gives us some good advice when we are facing life’s challenges. He says in James 1:2-4, “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” James is basically saying, keep a good attitude and let patience and perseverance keep you headed in the right direction.
Having our faith tested isn’t something new. We can read in the Gospel of Luke where Jesus warns Peter and all of the apostles about satan’s coming attack. The Lord says, “Simon, Simon (Peter), listen! Satan has asked excessively that [all of] you be given up to him [out of the power and keeping of God], that he might sift [all of] you like grain, But I have prayed especially for you [Peter], that your [own] faith may not fail; and when you yourself have turned again, strengthen and establish your brethren.”
Notice the Lord said that satan wanted to destroy them all and especially Peter. The Lord assured them that His prayers for them would sustain them through whatever the devil would throw at them. He then reassured Peter and then told him once he had the victory he should strengthen and help the others. Because of the Lord’s prayers, Peter’s faith was severely tested and he had some struggles but in the end his faith stood the test and he did what the Lord Jesus told him to do.
If the prayer of Jesus strengthened the apostles’ faith, I believe His prayers will also strengthen ours. Hebrews 7:25 says, “Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” The Lord Jesus is now our High Priest and He is continually praying and making intercession for us. The Lord Jesus has us covered in prayer that our faith will not fail. We are not fighting our battles alone. We have the Lord standing with us strengthening our faith so that we too can be overcomers in this life. Always remember that God has placed in your heart a measure of the God-kind of faith that overcomes the world.
The key for us to walk in faith and overcome our tests is to learn how to trust the Lord, be doers of His Word and operate in our measure of the God-kind of faith. To help you in your faith walk, this month’s message is, “The Process of Faith.” I taught this message at the Wednesday afternoon session of Rhema’s 50th Campmeeting in July. I believe the truths in this message will help you to walk in the faith that overcomes. I encourage you to listen to it several times and let these truths be established in your heart.
As I close, let me say to you how much I appreciate you and thank you for partnering with me in this ministry. In September and October, Bonnie and I will be ministering from the East Coast to the West
Coast of our great nation. We will be preaching and teaching in churches to strengthen their faith and to stir them to reach the lost and hurting with this great Gospel of the Kingdom of God.
I ask you to stand with us in faith, prayers and sowing seed into this ministry. Every financial seed you sow goes into the preaching of the Gospel. This Word of Faith is changing lives and we are experiencing powerful anointing's. As you stand with me and help by sowing your seed offering, my prayer continues to be what Paul prayed in Philippians 4:19, “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Once again, thank you for being my New Life Team Partner and I continue to pray that God’s very best will be yours.
