The Power of Spoken Words

Proverbs 6:2 says,"You are snared by the words of your mouth; You are taken by the words of your mouth." Our words are powerful, they will either release us into victory or hold us into bondage. What we believe and say has great influence on how we live.  In Matthew 12:33-37, the Lord Jesus said, "Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit. Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”  The power of our confession is a constant and consistent teaching throughout the Word of God.  If we want to change our life, we must change our talk.

I encourage you to open up your mind and heart to this powerful bible teaching. Study the outline, get the message and listen to it.  Get this revelation in your heart and begin to change your life through the power of your spoken words.

The Power of Spoken Words

I)      Our Words Produce Good or Bad Things In Our Lives

A)   Hebrews 1:3,4 (AMP/MSG) - Jesus is the expression of God’s Will and how God does things.

v.3 - As Lord and King, Jesus still upholds all things by the Spoken Word. God does nothing until He first says it. Jesus taught us the key to success is saying and doing the right thing.

B)   Proverbs 18:20,21 (AMP/MSG) - What we say about things and how we respond has consequences of good or bad.

C)   Proverbs 15:1,2 (MSG) - By our words and tone, we can bring peace or we can make things worse.

v.2 - Learn when to quit talking and when you’ve said enough – wisdom. Continuing to talk when you shouldn’t gets you into trouble.

1) Proverbs 10:19 - Restrains his lips is wise – control your words.

D)   Matthew 12:33-37 (MSG) - Fill your heart with God’s Word; speak it out in faith and you will produce good things. Quit talking defeat and start talking victory.

vv. 34,35 (MSG) - Be consistent to speak blessing over your home, family, job, etc.
